Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase today announced the appointment of Ms Christine Tang, the first Business Development Manager for the newly opened Guangzhou office in Southern China.
3 July 2017“Our expansion in China plays a critical role in ensuring NSW remains Australia’s number one tourism and events State and I am delighted that we have secured our first Business Development Manager in Guangzhou to continue to strengthen our in-market partnerships,” she said.
“This position will be responsible for building our relationships with key travel trade partners, wholesalers, retailers, airlines and online agents to increase the awareness and sales of NSW tourism destinations and products in Southern China.”
In the year ended March 2017, NSW welcomed more than 700,000 visitors from China who spent close to $3 billion.
Ms Tang said she was excited to be joining Destination NSW in this key positon to help promote Sydney and Regional NSW to travellers in Southern China.
“As the first Business Development Manager for Guangzhou, I am delighted to be joining Destination NSW and showcasing one of the world’s best visitor destinations – the global city of Sydney and the beautiful surrounding regions of NSW.”
Prior to joining Destination NSW, Ms Tang was Manager, Southern China for the Singapore Tourism Board.
Christine Tang will commence with Destination NSW on 3 July 2017.
