Vivid Sydney is an annual festival that sparks the soul of our city with creative brilliance for 23 days and nights.

Vivid Sydney 2022 injected $119 million into the NSW economy, with a record 2.58 million people attending the festival from NSW, interstate and around the world to view the largest lights festival in the Southern Hemisphere.

Vivid Sydney 2022 saw the largest opening weekend ever with 440,000 tourists coming to Sydney, while 2.1 million attendees had a sit-down or takeaway meal, providing a significant boost to local businesses.

Vivid Sydney 2022 won 14 medals at the 2022 International Festival & Events Association Pinnacle Awards. The Pinnacle Awards recognise excellence in festival and event promotions and operations globally. It also claimed the Best Public Event (National) trophy at the 2022 Australian Event Awards.

Vivid Sydney 2023 will include more than 300 events from 26 May to 16 June, across the pillars of Light, Music, Ideas and Food.

The creative direction for 2023 is “Vivid Sydney, Naturally”, focussing on our relationship with the natural environment.

The Vivid Sydney Light Walk will stretch continuously for 8.5km linking the Sydney Opera House to Central Station with 57 free light art installations and 3D projections featuring 32 NSW based artists and collaborators. Vivid Music boasts a cutting-edge contemporary music program featuring 67 gigs and concerts at 14 venues across the CBD with performances from local and international acts.

Vivid Ideas will offer 38 thought-provoking talks, debates and workshops, with 218 speakers including the popular Mike White and Jennifer Coolidge in Conversation at ICC Sydney and in Conversation with Jeannette Winterson at Sydney Town Hall.

The new Vivid Food will celebrate and profile NSW produce, culinary talent and venues through collaborations with NSW chefs, producers and national and international talent. Vivid Food has 282 events this year at 18 venues.
