Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Chipchase, today welcomed the Roads and Maritime Services’ move to introduce a simplified tollways payment scheme for visitors to Sydney.

Ms Chipchase said the new “eMU” electronic pass - available from more than 300 outlets across Sydney and NSW - would improve driver convenience for visitors to Sydney.

“Visitors to Sydney can now easily buy a 30-day e-toll pass for under $6 that is linked to the driver’s credit or debit card, and avoid any account setup, administration fees or deposit,” Ms Chipchase said.

“This is great news for visitors to Sydney, who can now plan their journeys with greater ease and avoid toll payment demands in the mail.

“The eMU pass is ideal for people in Sydney for business or on a holiday because it’s inexpensive, convenient and valid for a month on all eight of Sydney’s toll roads,” Ms Chipchase said.

Ms Chipchase said the new e-pass would also reduce the number of fines sent to hire car companies that are then redirected to customers with a processing fee of between $35-60.

Petrol stations and convenience stores which will sell the eMU pass from 22 December include BP, Caltex, Shell, United and Mobil.
